We all have that certain “place” that we go for comfort, for peace, for encouragement....perhaps it is a friend, perhaps it is a quiet park bench, next to a loved one who “gets us”. For me, my “place” is New Life Worship Center in Tyler, TX.

Having grown up in church my entire life, the church had always been a building we went to on Sundays and Wednesday nights, we sang a few songs, someone preached and we prayed and went home. That is all I knew when it came to a church.

About 6 years ago, my heart was yearning for something more than day to day routine, more than just my family (whom I adore), more than just social friendships. I WANTED MORE! I remembered having met a pastor several years prior who was genuine, who was caring and who remembered my name and the names of my two children years after that initial meeting. I discovered that he had started a church in Tyler called NEW LIFE WORSHIP CENTER and I decided to visit and take my children. This was something I knew that I should have been doing all along but had not done so.

From the moment I walked in (I like to say across the thresh hold) I knew this place was different! The power of God was alive, it was powerful and touched my heart in a way that had been missing most of my life.

Over the last 6 years, I have been taught, led, cared for by a shepherd who loves his flock, emboldened in my faith, discovered my Kingdom assignment....I am so thankful for all that New Life has done in the past and continues to do today.

I am so very blessed that our new shepherd is also a caring, dedicated and devoted pastor and friend to his sheep. It has changed my life, the lives of both my grown children and many extended family.
